A man walks into a psychiatrist’s office. “Doc, every time I see nickels, dimes, and quarters, I have a panic attack! What can the problem be?
“Oh that’s easy” the doctor answers. “You’re just afraid of change”.
At some point in our lives we face change and we become paralyzed. We are afraid of change, afraid of the unknown, reluctant to try something different, something new. This fear holds us back, stops us from growing, learning and ultimately limits the possibilities of what could be.
So where does this fear come from? How do you explain its hold on you in the face of change. Here is one possible explanation for what fear stands for:
False, Expectations, Appearing, Real
As long as we hold ourselves back from change, we are allowing our fears to win the battle. It is in the moments when you work through your fears and embrace a new way of thinking, a new way of doing things when you are able to experience personal growth and learning.
YOUR CHALLENGE: Look at what is currently holding you back, look for what’s needs to change and push your fear aside.
